It doesn't look like you're still interacting with this blog, so you may never see this comment, but .... THANK YOU!!!!! I've struggled greatly with certain aspects within the NVC community, and your words nail it. Thank you. I hope you've moved on to something else equally awesome :)

Much love,
Julie

Hi from Israel.
My name is Uri Katvan.
This is the 1st post I've read in this blog.
My need for clarity is fully met by this piece.
Feeling joyful and calm.
The way you write, meets a need of mine for inspiration.
"Means to an end" distinction "nailed it" for me.
I celebrate my evolving knowledge of NVC. Been extensively exposed to it for 1 year now.
Thank you for promoting Evolution and growth, dear contributor. I shall read further.
In serving of needs, Uri.

This post comes at a good time for me. I withdrew from learning or teaching NVC and mostly forgot that I came to live divine energy, as that is what inspired me on the deepest experience of NVC, to live in that place where I am infiltrated with peace. The struggle for me has been to live this divine place, not in solitude but with others, and not just with others who are also in a circle of solitude and connection with the divine but with those who are yelling at me- or who I perceive as yelling at me. I heard this piece of music once that inspired in me that place: http://www.grinnell.edu/academic/music/ensembles/singers/sviridov

I share it with you in hope that it will be a reminder of that sacred place. I hope it enlivens you dear reader.

Thank you Conal for taking the time to put this into words so accurately and clearly.
To me, what lies beyond NVC is a lack of "enemy images", a lack of "friend images", just communication, sharing, with an awareness of our goodness and value, and with trust that what is, is safe.

I smiled as I read your blog very early this morning and could not forget it as the day progressed. I remembered often what my body feels like when I am in full, bodily, empathy with another. The energy field is solid and flowing between myself and another whether the 'feelings' or 'words' would be judged 'positive' or 'negative' by traditional language. For that time, no matter how short, or long, there really is no right or wrong. Whatever is being shared is truly, truly precious. For me, in that space, true creativity can flow. I go there as often as I can. The needs and feelings words are just another form of expression, like body language, and actions, and everything else that I hope to use as a bridge to real presence.
